Fascia is an architectural term for a vertical band under a roof edge, visible to an observer. Typically it is made of wooden board, UPVC or non-corrosive sheet metal. Fascia helps protect the exterior of your house by keeping out pests like insects, birds, possums and bats. However, moisture can easily ruin wooden fascia boards. They need to be replaced to prevent problems in the future.

Fascias and soffits are the boards positioned along the bottom edges of a roof where it meets the external wall of your house. The vertical band at the edge of the roof is called a fascia and it supports the weight off the bottom row of tiles and carry all the guttering fixtures.

Traditionally, roofline structures were made from timber, which needs regular maintenance and repainting to prevent rot. If decay does occur, the whole roof structure can become vulnerable and it can lead to unnecessary cost.
